Cristina Navarrete 

Cristina Navarrete is a news reporter for Noticiero 47 Telemundo airing at 5 PM, 5:30 PM and 11 PM on weekdays.  It also airs at 6 PM and 11 PM on Saturdays and at 5:30 PM and 11 PM on Sundays on Telemundo 47 New York / WNJU, serving the Spanish speaking community in the New York tri-state area.

As a member of Telemundo 47, Navarrete covers the latest and most important news for viewers in the New York tri-state area. Contreras joined the Telemundo 47 team in 2016.

Before joining Telemundo 47, Navarrete worked as a bilingual reporter, producer and at times, as an anchor for Telemundo Wisconsin and CBS 58 in Milwaukee from 2014 to 2016.   In 2012, Navarrete was a reporter for Soi TV.

Navarrete received honors from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and won third place for her investigative reporting on suicide statistics among Hispanic youth.  Cristina graduated from DePaul University in Chicago where she majored in Communications.

Navarrete is an advocate for childhood education and plays a key role in her grammar school’s board, where she helps raise funds for scholarships destined to Hispanic students.
