The Hostos Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that operates exclusively for the charitable purpose of supporting Eugenio María de Hostos Community College of The City University of New York. All gifts to the Hostos Community College Foundation support our students and can be made in one of the following ways:

Make your tax-deductible gift to the Hostos Community College Foundation via credit card by visiting our Make A Gift page. You may direct your gift to an existing fund by selecting an option from the drop-down menu on that page. Currently, our most-needed fund is our BTSA Emergency Fund, which provides flexible emergency support for students, but to learn about other options, visit our Funds and Scholarships page.

Call Idelsa Méndez at 718-518-4341 to make your gift by phone or to request additional information.

Make your gift at the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture (HCAC) Box Office, at 450 Grand Concourse, which is open from 1pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday, as well as two hours before any performance in the Main or Repertory Theaters. Contact Félix Arocho at farocho@hostos.cuny.edu or 718-518-4477.

When you give, please remember that we can accept various forms of donations, including:

If your employer participates in a Matching Gift Program, your contribution to the Hostos Community College Foundation could be doubled or even tripled. Ask your employer if they are among the hundreds of corporations that offer this benefit to their employees.

It’s easy to direct gifts of appreciated marketable securities to the Hostos Community College Foundation. In doing so, you may even avoid capital gains taxes and qualify for an income tax deduction when the securities are donated directly to the College.

If you are 70½ or older, you may be able donate up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a charitable organization like Hostos. Many donors already use their IRAs to give directly to charity, through what’s called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The gift—which can serve as a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from an IRA—may prove particularly tax savvy if you’re taking the standard deduction.

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are the fastest-growing giving method and a tax-efficient way to manage charitable donations. DAFs allow some donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund to Hostos (and other non-profit organizations) over time.

By including the Hostos Community College Foundation in your personal estate planning, you may leave an enduring legacy gift that benefits Hostos students. For more information, please click here.
