Since 2007, the Circle of 100 Emergency Student Scholarship Fund has provided financial assistance to students nearing graduation who need additional support to reach their academic goals. After hearing countless stories from students about the difficult choices and sacrifices they had to make to pursue their education or support their families, a few dedicated staff members decided to establish a fund that could support student’s most basic needs. The scholarship was established long-serving members of the Hostos family, the late Professor Emeritus Gerald Meyer, former Manager of Alumni Relations, Nydia Edgecombe, and former Assistant Dean of Student Development and Enrollment Management (SDEM), Virginia Paris.

The Hostos Circle of 100 Tree of Life was created to encourage friends of the College to support this important fund. Donors who give at least $1,000 are honored with a leaf bearing their name or a brief message of their choice.
